Sheffield Business Park unveils 50-acre expansion
One of Yorkshire’s largest business parks has unveiled the next phase of its development masterplan – on a 50-acre site alongside the M1 at Sheffield.
Sheffield Business Park has secured planning consent for over 900,000 sq ft of office, general industrial and manufacturing/warehousing accommodation in Phase 2 of the site, located off Junction 33.
Phase 2 involves the redevelopment of the now-closed Sheffield City Airport runway, with facilities available on a bespoke design-and-build basis to meet occupier demand.
“Today’s business environment requires bespoke accommodation, tailor-made to meet the needs of the end user, whether for a distribution hub or a high-tech business headquarters,” says Sheffield Business Park director Graham Sadler.
“The emphasis is very much on adaptability; preparing sites for changing market conditions and offering flexible terms to attract indigenous and inward investors.”
He adds: “We have already placed orders with the major services and utilities for Phase 2, so that when a site end user is secured, development can be delivered as quickly as possible.”
Sheffield Business Park is the premier business park in the region. Since opening in 1997, over 600,000 sq ft of high-quality accommodation has been developed, supporting some 2,500 jobs.
Over recent years the park has attracted a number of prestigious occupiers and is home to several headquarters operations including Stanley Tools and SIG.
Sadler adds: “With considerable scope remaining for further phases of development and benefitting from its strategic location alongside the M1, the park will continue to make a significant contribution to the regeneration of the region.”
Sheffield Business Park Phase 2 is marketed by Knight Frank and M3.
